VeinGogh™ Ohmic Thermolysis
If you have unattractive spider veins ruining the appearance of your skin, you are not alone – these squiggly red or blue lines are very common. They often appear as the result of aging, pregnancy, a sedentary lifestyle or health conditions. Spider veins usually develop on the lower legs, but these threadlike blood vessels can even appear on your face.
Some treatments to eliminate spider veins can cause significant discomfort and leave tiny scars on your skin. VeinGogh™ is an innovative new treatment that eliminates spider veins immediately, permanently and painlessly.
VeinGogh™ for Spider Vein Treatment
VeinGogh™ Ohmic Thermolysis System uses Microburst Technology, or bursts of energy, to treat the vein. The technique utilizes a hair-thin probe that delivers high-frequency electrical energy to the spider vein. The electrical energy heats the vein and causes coagulation of the blood inside the vein, which causes the vein to collapse and eventually disintegrate. Your body routes blood through other veins, and nearby tissue absorbs the remnants of the spider vein. The procedure leaves the outer layers of skin unaffected and undamaged.
The procedure is less painful than other spider vein treatments because it involves the use of a hair-thin probe rather than a needle or scalpel. Many patients report a slight pinch, or liken the sensation of VeinGogh™ to a hair being removed.
Depending on the size of the treatment area, the VeinGogh™ treatment should take somewhere between a minute for minor spider veins on your nose to less than a half hour for larger areas covering your face or legs. Vein doctors perform the procedure in outpatient settings, and no anesthesia is required so you can go home immediately after the procedure. Aside from the possibility of some skin redness one to two hours following treatment, you will not experience any downtime following VeinGogh™ treatment.
VeinGogh™ can also treat small growths known as cherry angiomas, small hemangiomas, skin tags, clusters of spider veins known as spider nevi, and even the redness of rosacea.
Results are visible immediately following treatment, and your skin will continue to improve over the next few weeks as your body absorbs the treated vein. Most spider veins respond to a single VeinGogh™ treatment, but severe conditions may require follow-up treatment.
Nearly everyone can enjoy the benefits of VeinGogh™, but, as with all medical procedures, this treatment may not be right for everyone. The vein doctors at VIP Vein Center can help you determine whether this procedure is right for you.
